When I went to the Emergency Department to accommodate a patient request, I found the patient ready to leave AMA. Miranda was his nurse, and for every excuse the patient had for leaving, Miranda had a solution. He said, "I want to be in my own bed." She said, "You'll be in a nice private room with a TV shortly." He said, "I want to eat something." She said, "What do you want? I will go to Chappy's or the cafeteria"

The patient later told me that the only reason he had decided to stay was that he remembered that his mom taught him to always pay attention when someone goes out of their way to be kind to him, because they don't have to.

Miranda, on every occasion I have worked alongside her with a patient, has exhibited an almost superhuman capacity to be generous with the spirit of compassion, temperance, and hope for the other's well-being. She is consistent, and her care and concern for others does not change.

On other occasions, I have seen her speak life and encouragement over children in distress. I have felt her heart break with family members as they grieved their loved ones, and I have witnessed her give her all to some days with very little to show for it...and still she keeps coming back.

I am very grateful for Miranda and pray that God continues to strengthen and encourage her in her duties as a nurse. I am certain that her generous compassion towards others impacts the world in significant ways.

Thank you, Miranda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
