Miranda is the Super Woman of IMCU. She is the role model that most nurses aspire to become. She has the perfect balance of clinical skills and compassion that allow her to give patients complete, wholistic care. Miranda is an ANM here on IMCU and her leadership plays a key role in not only keeping the unit running smoothly, but also in exploring new ways to make our unit even better.

Miranda has been the chair of the ANM SPT council for the last two years and organized education opportunities for all ANMs. She is also involved with the new committee designed to trial a bed flow pager system, and is part of the APEX committee. Miranda ran the group on IMCU that completed and recently submitted a Beacon application that was a year long project. She guided and organized groups of staff to write this document together which took a lot of patience and encouragement from her part. IMCU just received the Silver Beacon award with her guidance. During this time, she was a mentor and trained two new ANM's into their roles as well. She has been involved with all of this activity, in addition to her regular role on the unit!

Miranda's clinical skills are exceptional and she is prepared for any patient that comes to IMCU. She maintains her PCCN certification and attends conferences to stay on top of her skills. The beside staff feel supported and comfortable knowing that they have Miranda to help out if they are concerned about a patient. "I can always count on Miranda to be there when I need her to help me problem solve. I always feel like her priority," stated a new graduate RN. Miranda thinks quick on her feet and supports the floor staff to keep our patients safe. She advocates not only for our patients, but also for our staff.

Compassion is a gift that Miranda possesses at the highest level. One staff member says, "Miranda has the biggest heart in the world! She cares so much about everyone around her, including patients and staff members." She finds time in her busy day to sit down with patients and listen to stories about their past and to hear any concerns that they may have. A CNA from IMCU says, "Miranda is always looking for ways to improve the satisfaction of our patients and to make their stay better".

Miranda dedicates so much herself into everything that she does, and she does not accept anything less than excellent. She has set the bar high for the rest of us on IMCU to follow, and will continue to push us to be our best.
