Professor Cummings is always available for the students. She demonstrates positivity, compassion, and encouragement with every encounter. Students seek her advice and know she respects their time and questions!

Miriam is very detail-oriented. She digs deep into her work to find ways to improve the success of her students. She not only looks at the grades, but she has also created a way to see what questions were difficult for the students and incorporates a more effective approach when teaching that subject matter so the students better understand. Kudos for all the extra time and hard work you put into your profession to assist all the wonderful students! You are vital to the success of KSU students!

My personal experience is that I requested to observe her coordinator’s position. Her response was immediate! The very next morning I was in her office from 9am until 1:30 being taught all the magnificent steps involved in the work of a coordinator. Not only did she take the time to teach me, but she also showed me the same steps on the computer! I am so grateful for this learning opportunity. Her knowledge and expertise are amazing! Her willingness to share her knowledge is commendable and greatly appreciated! This is how I learned of the time and dedication she has given to improving the success of each student. The kindness she has shown me is unbelievable!

Miriam is very understanding and compassionate with her students. When placing a student on a clinical contract, she presents it as a success track, not a punitive contract. She offers the student an opportunity to work on a negative situation and turn it into a positive one. 

She always goes above and beyond for coworkers and students. She is a true leader. Her honesty and genuine character are what every student deserves as an outstanding educator!
