I would like to recognize Miriam for being one of the most amazing nurses I have ever met. She is the complete package: smart, kind, compassionate, and has a contagious positive attitude. Miriam took care of my grandmother this summer on multiple occasions. My grandmother had a fall that landed her in the hospital for 72 days. During this hospitalization, my grandmother suffered some complications and experienced a rare medication allergy causing burn-like wounds to her face and hands. Miriam was instrumental in providing comfort and care for my grandmother throughout her stay. On multiple occasions, she advocated for pain medication, nutrition services, physical therapy, and wound care treatment to name a few. Miriam not only took care of my grandmother's physical well-being, but she also nurtured her spirit as well. They bonded over long talks about life and family. On rough days, Miriam would say, "don't worry, let's pray about it". She even offered to pray for us when she got home. I'm sure she kept her promise because Grams is home now, all better, and almost back 100%!
