Prior to my surgery for salivary gland cancer, I was given Miriam’s name as a clinical nurse contact. From the start, Miriam was attentive, informative and empathetic. She answered any questions I had, even those unrelated to radiotherapy, which is her specialty. If she couldn’t answer my questions, she would find out the answers on my behalf.

Miriam was constantly in touch with me via email or phone, and came to introduce herself personally while I was at London Bridge Hospital after my surgery. She spent a large amount of time explaining what to expect with regards to radiotherapy and went into detail about any questions I had. She put me at ease and made me feel seen and heard during a very stressful and low time in my life. She is an asset to the team, and any patient is lucky to have her assigned to them as CNS.

Unfortunately, she will not be part of the multidisciplinary team, but I am extremely grateful for all the information she has already imparted, which has prepared me for the road ahead. I cannot express my thanks enough.
