Mirna was kind and caring. We felt she treated us like her family every step of the way. Here is a specific example of her exemplary care. My husband had just had emergency surgery for an obstruction in his bowel. He was here for stage IV colon cancer. Thankfully she was our nurse on the second day of his recovery. On the first day he had a temperature which I asked the staff to watch instead of treating by dumping ice on him, dosing with Tylenol and walking away. On the second night, when we were lucky enough to have Mirna, he had what appeared to be an approaching fever. The fever had been lowering on its' own, but seemed to come back up in the night. She came in to let us know there was a low grade fever that she was watching and if it came up she wanted to give Tylenol. I raised my issues and concerns regarding the fever and wanting to know if something was wrong. I wondered how we would know if action needed to be taken. She expertly fielded all my concerns, explaining that post surgery the core temp may rise and she would want to lower it to promote healing of surgery. I knew she would not push Tylenol and forget him. I trusted her implicitly knowing she had my husband's best care at heart. There is no doubt in my mind that Mirna treats all her patients with this level of care.
