Miroslav Manso Rodriguez, RN, BSN

The wife of a former patient nominated Rodriguez for the DAISY Award. In her nomination letter, the woman wrote that Rodriguez was kind and knowledgeable, but above all, he had a way of explaining a situation so a person could understand. Rodriguez never made her husband feel bad for being in pain or uncomfortable. She then went into greater detail about the impact Rodriguez’s care had on her husband. “Even when Miroslav was off duty, my husband was comparing the other nurses to him. We feel extremely grateful to have had Miroslav as our nurse. He went above and beyond — even while not having a full staff — to check in and make sure everything was okay. He is just an exceptional human being.” Hospital representatives honored Rodriguez with an award presentation on June 22.
