I would like to nominate Mirtha Tun from C62. Mirtha has been on the team for several years and is a very strong nurse who manages a busy part of the team. Neptune and Asbury are Mithra's Primary territories, and she often visits more than her normal workload to stay on top of her case management. Recently Mirtha has begun helping the team with the training of new staff, which has really made an incredible difference to the team. Please read the below letter I received regarding the care that Mirtha delivered to one of our patients and employees; need I say anymore! "To my VNA team, I wanted to write a letter to express my gratitude to the entire VNA team, especially my nurse Mirtha. As a VNA employee, I have always known that we have amazing nurses who strive to provide the best care for our patients. However, it was not until I became a patient after the birth of my son that I realized just how amazing the nursing department really is. I want to express my gratitude for Mirtha and all that she did for my family and me during a very stressful and scary C-section recovery. On the day after discharge, I was provided immediate care and instructed how to use my wound vac, who to call if any issues arose, and what to look out for in terms of infections, etc. From the moment Mirtha arrived on my first VNA visit, she helped to relieve my anxiety and calmed me down; for that, I am beyond grateful. Mirtha always was on top of my wound care and communicated with my surgical team and me any concerns that she had. Under her care, I was always treated with kindness, respect, and the utmost professionalism. Mirtha is an amazing nurse! I am so grateful for everything that she did during my VNA care. I cannot express enough how much she helped me recover and get back to focusing on my new baby and family. Thank you to her and to the entire team. I am looking forward to working with you all again when I fully recover!"
