Misti’s leadership was essential to ensuring that our students from pre-school to high school were able to ‘shop’ for supplies. Over 200 children of the TMC family benefited from this very worthwhile event.
Misti has done a fantastic job of stepping into interim director and management roles and has provided stability, growth, and improvement in women's and children’s services on two separate occasions. During her time as the interim director, she navigated difficult situations and was successful in bringing ED and OB together by providing 100% hypertension simulation drills for the ED and OB staff. This work has led to extremely high-functioning teamwork and collaboration. The improvement in maternal outcomes in our facility is in part due to her work.
I have witnessed Misti jumping into challenging cases that others avoided. She is accessible and effective from the bedside to the office. It is with grace and poise displayed in the many different roles she had taken on when TMC has needed her in a pinch. This nurse leader goes well beyond what is expected of her to make sure each project she spearheads is extremely successful. Misti willingly volunteered to serve on the hospital VOICE committee, which is not a surprise to all who know her as her goals have always been to help patients, physicians, and staff in any capacity.
Recently, all our leaders attended the ALICE luncheon for Grayson County. ALICE stands for ‘asset limited, income constrained, employed’ and serves our neighbors and families who earn just above the Federal Poverty Level and are struggling to afford basic necessities. Misti came back from this luncheon very stirred and desiring to help our community. This spurred her to remember an event that used to happen at TMC annually. She voiced to the VOICE committee that she would like to see us care for our own by holding the Back-to-School Supply Event so our TMC kiddos could kick off their school year with the best start! Because of the numerous roles that Misti has stepped up and filled for our facility and because of her dedication to serving our TMC family, she is truly a DAISY Nurse Leader!
