Misty was one of the fabulous nurses who cared for my dad when he came to hospice. She was truly an angel who cared for my dad all through the night hours. What made Misty stand out to my family is that we had hooked up a DVD player to the TV in his room and were watching a birthday video that we had made all about his life. When we left for the evening, I turned off the DVD player. I called the hospice nurse station line the next morning to get a report on how my dad's evening had been and got to speak with Misty personally, who had cared for him. She happened to mention how much she loved seeing those pictures of my dad and that she was talking to him about them in the room. I said, "Oh Misty, I thought i turned that DVD player off." She replied, "I turned it back on. I wanted to see all about his life." The fact that Misty would take that much interest in a person whom she would know for very few days was incredibly telling about the deep level of care and compassion that she has for her patients. I have told this story multiple times to so many people, and it never fails to impress. Misty is a very special part of your team, and we're so grateful that she was there to care for my dad.
