We had a very upset, depressed, and sick COVID patient in our unit. He was crying and very scared he was going to die. Mohini sat with him, comforted him, and listened to him. The only thing he wanted while he was in the hospital (for many days) were some Fig Newtons. Mohini called dietary who informed her that we don’t have any. On her next day off, she went to the store to buy him some. When she returned to work the patient had transferred to a different unit. She went to check on him and gave him the Fig Newtons. She completely made this patient’s hospital stay by being empathetic, caring, compassionate, and giving!
