My father, G, came into the SICU with a catastrophic CVA. The staff of the SICU was phenomenal to our family. We were faced with a heartbreaking decision to have him intubated and care initiated in order to allow my Mother a bit of time to come to grips with the situation and to allow my brothers from out of state to arrive. Molli was our nurse for two days during the day shift. I cannot praise her enough. She was compassionate, understanding, and gentle in her treatment of our Mother, and allowed us to stay at the bedside more than most would have. When the decision was finally made to withdraw, she was the epitome of professional caring. I have been a nurse a long time and a person can tell when someone is working a job or a calling. I truly believe that Molli has a calling for her work.

I have been toying with writing this email because these paltry words cannot convey how wonderful she was to our family or how exceptional the care that was provided was. It was a horrible experience having to let my Father go but she was the one light in the darkness. She exemplified our mission at CHRISTUS throughout the entire ordeal. I know that when I grow up, I want to be half the nurse that she was to our family. She did not simply take care of my Dad but she also took care of us. I want her to know how much we appreciated her and everything she did for us. There will never be an adequate way to say thank you to her or everyone else so this email will have to do. Everyone was amazing but Molli stood out due to her compassion. I just wanted her to get recognition for an amazing job.
