Molly could not have been kinder, more thoughtful, or more proactive.
I am a survivor of acute respiratory distress syndrome and spent 4+ weeks intubated, then 10 days supported by a tracheostomy. As a result, I have some anxiety when back in a hospital environment. Mollie McMahon, the Endoscopy charge nurse, could not have been kinder, more thoughtful, or more proactive as she helped me and my legally blind husband, Harry, through the preparation and the bronchoscopy.
Before the procedure was about to begin, they discovered that the anesthesia machine was not working. This necessitated moving the equipment and me up to the operating room floor. Mollie calmly and with good humor and a nice supply of warm blankets transported me herself, sent someone to find my husband to let him know of the change in venue, found a lovely open room for me, and took care of delivering me to Dr. G and a working anesthesia machine.
Afterwards, she also wheeled me out to our friend who was waiting to drive us home. I asked her when her day started at 5:30 am, and I was amazed by the kind, calm energy she still displayed at 3 pm. Thank you, Mollie, for your sensitivity, problem-solving expertise, and overall, DAISY-worthy care.
