She has taken a special interest in helping bedside nurses be comfortable treating a patient in cardiac arrest
Molly Fagan received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Saint Mary’s College. After graduation, she took a job in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, where she soon discovered her love of caring for critically ill patients.

She first worked in a critical care unit at a small community hospital. After three years, she transferred to a medical intensive care unit at the Cleveland Clinic. While working for the Cleveland Clinic, she has worked with some of the best physicians and nurse practitioners in the country. Their knowledge and service to patients has been inspiring. She also saw firsthand the impact that nurse practitioners can have on patients in the acute care setting.

With a growing desire to further her knowledge and impact on critically ill patients, she enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Saint Mary’s College. Throughout the doctorate program, she has learned to be a confident leader in the healthcare field. She has taken a special interest in helping bedside nurses be comfortable treating a patient in cardiac arrest. She developed an innovation project that studied the impact of simulation mock cardiac arrests on critical care nurses’ confidence and competence. She hopes to continue this research and study the impact on cardiac arrest patient survival rates. Upon graduation, she hopes to transition to a nurse practitioner in an intensive care unit and use her new knowledge and skill set to continue caring for the Cleveland community's critically ill patients.
