As a trainer of new nurses, Molly has been able to successfully transmit that level of empathy, care, and ownership of the patient's care to her trainees.
Molly has been taking care of one of my patients with advanced dementia. Her daughter, who is most of the time at the bedside caring for her mother, mentioned to me that Molly and her nurse in training have been "wonderful.“ She mentioned that they treat her mother with the utmost respect and are extra sweet with her. Moreover, they are super attentive to the patient's needs. The patient's daughter mentioned and I can corroborate that Molly genuinely cares for the patient. In fact, the patient’s daughter mentioned that she feels reassured by the care given to her mother by Molly to the point that she feels at peace leaving the hospital to rest because she knows that Molly will take good care of her, and would feed the patient who cannot feed herself. But most importantly, I am nominating Molly because as a trainer of new nurses, she has been able to successfully transmit that level of empathy, care, and ownership of the patient's care to her trainees.
