Her pleasant expression and personality always helped calm me. She is the best emotional medicine!
I was recovering from acute respiratory failure, pneumonia, and some cardiac issues. Molly was very supportive. She explained all of my medications and reasons for use. She was encouraging, especially as I had to have a blood thinner injection every day. She explained that checking my blood glucose before each medication was due to the heavy doses of steroids. She helped me keep my fluid intake within the prescribed limit. She printed out helpful information about my diagnosis and explained all of the information. She was right there when I wanted to go home and encouraged me to just keep resting and getting better. Her help was invaluable when I had to do my stress test. She made sure all was ready for my transport down to the testing area. Molly was so kind. She is an asset to Vista. PS: All of my discharge information was complete, plus there was extra information about my diagnoses. I have 5 daughters, and she also kept them well informed when they came each day.

I recently went to Vista East due to an irregular heart rate (something I'd never experienced during the 5 years I’ve been monitoring my blood pressure). The entire ER team I encountered that day; registration, nurses, and doctor were kind, caring, and attentive. I was later moved to a regular room for overnight monitoring and future testing. The 5th floor staff was also kind, caring, and attentive. I know that’s their job, but I was so pleased with their care as I live alone and was very scared of being hospitalized, especially for a heart-related issue. However, I want to express extreme gratitude for the care provided to me by the 5th-floor day shift primary nurse assigned to my room- Molly! I had to remain an inpatient for two days while awaiting an echocardiogram to be performed. Each morning, around 7 a.m. Molly stopped in my room to say, “hi”, and ask how I was doing. Her pleasant expression and personality always helped calm me. She is the best emotional medicine! When she got an update on the scheduled time/date for my echocardiogram, Molly quickly came to tell me. Once a cardiologist was assigned to me, she provided me the doctor's name, address, and phone number as I wanted to ensure that he was in my insurance plan. When she heard what medicine I was going to be prescribed once I went home, she legibly wrote it down so I could also verify that it was accepted by my insurance. As soon as I was approved to be released, Molly came to give a thumbs-up sign and said she’d be sure to complete my discharge papers and review them with me before the end of her rapidly approaching 12-hour shift. I know this is what a nurse should do, but to me, Molly just seemed extra, extra special on top of attending to other patients. On this afternoon, she also had to cope with an unruly patient down the hall from my room. I could hear her repeatedly run to this patient! I was worried for her safety, and once, I had a nearby male nurse check on the commotion. Fortunately, Molly was okay. But I am just amazed at all she had to cope with while working a long 12-hour shift! Molly has more dedication, compassion, and ability than I’ve ever had in my lifetime of over 60 years! She is a true gem and a valued employee of Vista East. Thank you, Molly!
