Upon arrival to the QMC we received a very warm welcome from Molly. We were very nervous about what to expect with the COVID procedures and Molly made us feel instantly at ease. Her personality was so calm and reassuring. My husband had a very difficult time watching me give birth to our first child ten years ago as he tends to suffer from severe anxiety. With this in mind, I was worried about how he was going to react to the whole situation. Molly was superb, she listen to our concerns and worked with us. I can honestly say she made my labour the most magical and surreal experience for us both. Whenever we felt anxious or worried, she guided us through extremely calmly. It was challenging enough for her to keep me calm but the fact that she had the hubby to contend with too must have been even more challenging for her. She was utterly professional and her dedication to her role shone. My little boy arrived safely in the hands of Molly. I was impressed that no other team member was required throughout the labour. Considering we were in the middle of a pandemic, Molly was incredible. She really is an absolute credit to the NHS. Our son was born within his amniotic sac which Molly stated was very rare and apparently very lucky too. We feel we were the lucky ones having a midwife like Molly. Special people deserve recognition. Each year, when we celebrate our son's birthday we will also raise a glass to Molly, our superstar midwife!
