I was able to be comfortable for the final 2 days of my hospitalization and I thank Molly for the compassion she displayed.
Molly arrived at my room yesterday as the RN assigned to my care. I suppose in the "report" she was already advised of my need for pain medication every two hours to alleviate the discomfort that bone cancer causes. With that being said for the past two days she has diligently worked to keep my pain at bay medicating me on schedule. If she was unable to medicate me by herself, she would have a colleague or the charge nurse arrive to administer the medication. It is that type of care that makes NYU Langone stand out amongst its competitors. Caring dedicated nurses and physicians who never seem to forget what the patient needs, one single patient when they have a list of 8-10 others that each has their own issues. Molly wasn’t taught this type of behavior. You have to have that special something, that ability to put yourself in the patient's position and then do what you would for a member of your own family. Her dedication to me was unprecedented. I was able to be comfortable for the final 2 days of my hospitalization and I thank Molly for the compassion she displayed.
In addition, NYU Langone would be well served to have all new nurses training to spend time with Molly simply because of the fact that if those new RNs training emulate even half of what Molly has taught them or they observe, well....those new nurses will be some of the best this facility has ever seen.
