My grandfather arrived at Saint Luke’s for an appointment to decide if surgery was an option. To our surprise, the surgery was scheduled immediately. When we were able to see my grandfather in the ICU, he was still sedated, and we had numerous concerns and fears. My family's and I's fears were met with the bright smile and infectious “can do” spirit of Molly.

Molly answered all our questions, explained the recovery plan, and brought a sense of calm and security. Molly was so encouraging to our family while also presenting the honest hurdles and challenges the next few days would have. She balanced the reality of the situation with the encouragement of what’s next in a way that let us feel confident and relaxed as possible.

My grandfather enjoyed Molly’s care so much, as he gained trust in her, that if she said to do it – then he did. Molly truly shined brighter in a room full of bright lights. Watching her continually encourage my grandfather through the entire recovery process while having to repeat herself due to his lack of hearing shows the care she provides daily. Molly is special. You cannot teach her care and attention to detail. Her heart for the people she cared about is so evident.

Her impact will always be remembered every time we get to spend whatever time we have left with our grandfather. That is “extra time” given to us by the staff at Saint Luke’s. Molly is a gift given to our family!
