In July my daughter came into St. Luke's ER with a brain bleed. In moments she was taken to the neuro ICU and was being observed and treated. My husband and I were advised that she would be observed for a few days regarding her condition and to see if surgery would be needed.
I believe it was the second day of being in the ICU that Molly entered the room with a beautiful smile and soft compassionate caring voice. She introduced herself to my daughter and talked to her in a soft caring voice and discussed all she was going to do while she was her nurse.
As I was listening to her, I could see how my daughter was responding to Molly's positive caring touch. My daughter seemed more relaxed, comfortable and pain free with Molly and she responded to Molly's sweet soft voice when needed.
As we went into the next few days, surgery was scheduled for that Wednesday. The evening of surgery, Molly asked my husband and me if we would wait in the waiting room so she could get my daughter ready for her "Big Day."
When I came back into the room, Molly had my daughter bathed and laying in her bed so perfect and peaceful. The sheets looked like they were ironed and pressed!! The room was all picked up and cleaned. As I was standing there crying, I heard country music playing that is my daughters favorite music to listen to. Molly had made the room so relaxed and comfortable that I felt my daughter was safe and in wonderful caring hands by her.
I believe Molly should be honored with the DAISY award for her compassionate and care towards the patient needs.
