Monica was the day nurse for my brother-in-law. He is a special case in that he has been a quadriplegic for over 25 years and requires specialized care. This specific visit was to address mental disorientation that was finally tracked down to be an infection. The family had a caregiver on-site with him 24 hours a day for his stay to help answer questions and to tend to his needs. Every caregiver (5 different individuals) that interacted with Monica always came away very impressed and thankful that she was assigned to him. One of the things she did that may seem small but means a lot is that she would always talk with and discuss items directly with him instead of with the caregiver. Most times other staff members would talk to the caregiver directly and not even acknowledge that my brother-in-law was there and listening. In our minds, Monica exemplifies what every nurse should strive to be.
***
I had the privilege of having Monica as my nurse two of the days I was here. She was courteous, professional, and caring. She always had a smile on her face and was cheerful. She was always sympathetic and knew my goal was to get home as soon as possible. Though she wanted that for me, too, she would encourage me to be sure to work on the things I needed to so I could get home as soon as it was safe for me to leave.
***
She always seemed to have my back. She was so nice and compassionate towards me. She helped me through a lot of the worries I had.
***
She took care of my daughter. It's not just the nursing but the love in her heart. Thank you, Monica!
***
She eased so many of our worries. Monica is very calm and brings calm into a place where there's anxiety from the unknown. You can tell she really cares for her patients. Nurses like her are 1 in a million.
