Monica is a Spanish-speaking nurse with 20 years of experience at St. Elizabeth's. When she found out that I also know Spanish, we enjoyed conversing in Spanish and English during her check-ins for vitals, medicine, etc. My husband and I have been through labor, delivery, and postpartum at St. Elizabeth's many times, but this nurse was able to share new tips for the baby that we hadn't thought of before. We will always credit her for giving us the idea to burp our baby both before AND after feeding him. We had always only burped our babies AFTER feeding. She also suggested we have the baby stay in the nursery for a couple of hours when he went in for his APGARS test at 2 am so that we could get some much-needed sleep. Those two hours of sleep were such a great help in my recovery. We appreciate her great knowledge, sense of humor, and wealth of experience and feel so lucky that she was our nurse for me and for our baby!
