Monica Cartagena, BSN, RN

Monica, my nurse, was very kind to me. She explained all the procedures they had planned for me and always rooted for me. There were many times when I felt like my diagnosis was hard and unbearable. Monica allowed me to cry and comforted me.

When she would come by my room and laugh with me, I explained I felt alive with laughs. It gave me purpose and strength when dealing with two knee amputations. Not all nurses are the same, but Monica has that spark that I hope every patient can feel.

The way she was so attentive healed something inside of me. I wish I had her always.
