He could have easily died on the ground of your parking garage all alone had Monica not been caring and compassionate enough to stop and render aid.
My father took his brother to the ER to be seen by a physician. Visitors were asked to wait in their cars or come back at a later time. My dad decided to walk to his truck located in the parking garage and wait. As my dad reached the parking garage he became short of breath and collapsed. Monica had just gotten off work and was driving through the garage, just about to exit when she noticed a man lying unconscious in a pool of blood on the floor of the garage. She stopped her vehicle immediately to help the man on the ground – my dad! She called for help and continued to talk to him as he tried to awaken.
Monica called 911, got security to direct traffic around my dad so that no one would hit him. She ensured his personal belongings were accounted for and properly turned over to security. She stayed with my dad and used her personal items to apply pressure and clean blood. She talked to him and calmed him and let him know that he was not alone and that she was going to stay with him and get help for him. When EMS arrived, she collaborated with them to ensure my dad was taken directly to the ER and treated immediately before she left. My dad was found to have multiple bilateral PEs and suffered severe facial trauma from the fall. He could have easily died on the ground of your parking garage all alone had Monica not been caring and compassionate enough to stop and render aid. She collaborated with the team to ensure he was given amazing care and a chance to live.
My dad spent several days in ICU and later underwent surgery to repair his facial trauma. Monica came to visit my dad in his room. She also came back to check on dad to re-assure him that he would be ok when he went to surgery. I could never repay Monica for being an Angel to my dad in that parking garage (also happened to be my dad’s birthday). I will forever appreciate her willingness to care. After all she was off and going home!
