I have only been in ASU for 2 years. In those 2 years, I have been so impressed by the role she plays. She takes a patient assignment on the days when we need the extra nurse. She is always available and makes her staff feel comfortable to request assistance from her – whether it’s for a question or to lend an extra hand. She is aware of what is going on in the unit and is always a part of daily activities. She truly cares about her staff. She accommodates our requests with our work schedule (which is a huge accomplishment and employee satisfaction). Since day 1 of being a staff member on this unit, I have been very aware of her dedication to the patients and staff in this unit. She has been consistent in her actions and is an exemplary nurse leader.
