While taking care of a patient with anaphylaxis to blood, I requested 5 units of cryo to be combined and infused rapidly. Monica questioned the order. She suggested that, if each unit of cryo represented a different person, wouldn't it be safer to infuse them separately and decrease the inflammatory response by lessening antigen exposure. I agreed and felt that idea required reasoning well outside of expected. Dr. B agreed that the insight was not only critical but likely important in lessening the patient's inflammatory response.
