Every time I see Monica she is so happy and positive. The last shift we worked together Monica took care of a patient who was transitioning. The patient's wife called throughout the day and when Monica was not busy, she took the call and spoke to the patient's wife. The wife asked Monica "can you please tell him I love him." Monica responded by asking the wife if she had an iPhone. Then Monica walked into the patient's room to help make a FaceTime call between the patient and his wife. Monica mentioned how the patient was not speaking much and did not seem happy. However, when he saw his wife's face, Monica stated that the patient smiled from ear to ear.
This is what nursing is about, going the extra mile for the patient and family. Thank you Monica for making a difference.
