Monica offered her professional advice which was accepted by the doctors. This advice led to the discovery of a malady in my recent surgery.
Monica Smith was instrumental in my healing by the way she used her medical knowledge and professional excellence in her treatment of me. She consistently exhibited the highest degree of service.
On one occasion when the attending doctors were deliberating over the status of my health, Monica offered her professional advice which was accepted by the doctors. This advice led to the discovery of a malady in my recent surgery. Her words to the doctors were: "this doesn’t look right. we need to pursue it more in depth". At her urging, I was given a CT scan which resulted in follow up surgery that was labeled a success.
On a daily basis, Monica as my nurse showed patience, compassion, and understanding of my needs and desires. She was cooperative and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. Her care for me was not only physical comfort and healing but spiritual as well. Her tender solicitude over my wishes, requests, and condition gave me peace which was holistic healing. Her behavior demonstrated the words of Jesus "love others as I have loved you". I thank God for blessing me and the other Veterans with her sterling quality of service. She exemplified the highest ideals of nursing. She is a credit to the Veterans Hospital. "She gives strength to the needy". Proverbs 31:20 Abraham Melaashmore. " The joy of the Lord is our strength" Nehemiah 8:10
