Monica was a bright light in our unexpected stay at Riley. She definitely knew her stuff clinically, but what stood out most to me was her calming demeanor that put me at ease. She kept me well informed and always gave me options and information to allow me to make the ultimate and best decision. She checked on us several times that night, while I sat by my son's bed, and was completely on top of his pain control and care. She even offered to get additional medication and care from a doctor if I felt it was needed. Aside from those things, she also brought me a ton of snacks since I had not had any food since lunch. Bottom line, I felt completely supported and free to just be a worried mom, which is hard to do when you're a nurse yourself. Thank you, Monica! Our stay was way better because of you!
