Monica was my guardian angel. Twice during my hospital stay she was very knowledgeable of the signs and symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis. She was very concerned when I had complications and difficulty breathing. When my nails and hands turned blue, she alerted my doctor that I shouldn't be moved to a regular room. One morning when I aspirated, Monica alerted the recovery team immediately. She always had my back. She is perpetually happy and positive. It was my pleasure to observe how Monica's peers and colleagues respect the ways in which she treats her patients. She is an excellent mentor. It is my honor to nominate Monica for the DAISY Award.
