Monica Schmidt recently started caring for a patient who was homeless. The emergency housing where she was staying told our patient they were no longer able to stay there and had to leave. Even though this patient had only been on services for less than a week, Monica took it upon herself to make sure this patient was safe and comfortable. She made sure this person's belongings were not thrown out and found them a new place to stay.
This patient does not have family in the area, so Monica went the extra mile for them to make them feel loved and cared for in their time of uncertainty. I went to see this patient a day after all this happened. They were happy, smiling and very gracious for what Monica did for them.
Monica routinely treats her patients with dignity and respect and always goes above and beyond of what is expected of her. Monica is the true definition of selfless and we are truly happy to be her coworkers.
