If we encounter resistance, she urges us to see it as an opportunity for connection and understanding.
I can confidently say that I have never had a Nurse Manager of the caliber we have in Monica Valentine. If I could select all of the commitment badges, I would! She consistently creates an environment focused on "lifting everyone up". She rounds with staff every day that she is in the office. Checking in with everyone. Truly taking time with them and even following up on personal matters. On more than one occasion, I have heard teammates talk about how much it meant that she checked in during a time of grief. It didn't feel as though they were being pressured about work, but just that she was checking in on them because she genuinely cared.
Her commitment to "leading the way" is exemplified by her openness to open dialogue about our ever-changing environment. She wants to celebrate the wins and discuss the challenges. She encourages us to be leaders in the shift towards Virtual Nursing. If we encounter resistance, she urges us to see it as an opportunity for connection and understanding. She believes in this program and its ability to impact patient care at every level. I believe this also goes along with "thinking boldly together".
Teammate experiences and ideas have enabled feedback that has created real change in our processes, and with the developers of the applications we use to monitor and connect with patients. We "embrace the unknown" in Virtual Nursing. Driving change in patient care through a culture of acceptance that Monica has created. In her unshakeable optimism, she has created a team that will reach far beyond what we can fathom. I am so excited to be a part of her team. I have no doubt that many of my teammates would echo these exact sentiments. Thank you, Monica!
