Monique Savasta initiated a unit based bereavement program because she recognized the importance of caring and supporting parents and families who grieve the loss of “the normal newborn" and support persons who suffer separation from the infant. Her focus as a resource nurse encompasses family centered care, and parent satisfaction. She recently revised the unit visitation policy to make it "family friendly" and reviews a newly developed parent satisfaction survey to provide real-time feedback to staff concerning issues and successes. She shares her passion to be a holistic caregiver.
