Monique Wells, RN

Monique not only did her job, but she did it well. As my grandfather was dying, she was a listening ear about his life and our family's love for him. She constantly showed him respect by keeping him comfortable. She explained what was happening to him in a way that made sense. She made herself available to change his dressings as he was weeping, before the children in our family get here, so they can have a better last memory of their great-grandfather. She listened to us and advocated for his end-of-life care. She showed that she cared about his last days just as much as we did. She made sure that he got put into a bigger room so more of us could be with him, which was appreciated more than I can explain. In the week and a half that we were here, we looked forward to her -- and so did our grandfather.
