To Morgan Adams,
I hope this card reached you as it means a great deal to me to thank you for all you did not only for me, but my family. I will not try and express some fake and brave bravado. I was scared, especially when they took me off the floor and brought me back to ICU. You contacted the Doctor and waited with me between your other patients awaiting his advice. That was very comforting, somebody cared for me. Not that others did not , you just are one of those kind of people who are remarkable. Kind, considerate, reassuring, professional and a smile that would launch a thousand ships. I was afraid of dying and leaving this world without saying or doing the things that I had put off for too long.
It is early Saturday morning and I am surrounded by my cat, my "Morkie" (1/2 yorkie and half maltese), our English Bulldog and enclosed by so many plants, many of which are in bloom, on my back porch. It is because of you and Dr. N that I have this opportunity. I thought I was going to die and at times I had wished I would I hurt so bad just to get it over with. But you were having nothing of it. Your cheerful face over me telling me I WAS NOT going to die and was in the best care reassured me and gave me strength.
Even when you came into my ICU room to tell me that the Doctor had elected for Emergency Surgery, you were very reassuring and smiled through it all. There again you gave me strength when I did not think I was going to see it through. I saw you being a leader, speaking to your staff to see that things were done. Impressive and always with a smile. Your Preparation for me took place so very, very fast, it made me nervous, but your calmness put me to ease. If the Doctors had a question you had an answer. Also the fact that you kept my family and friends together with your reassurance was brought to my attention. There is a lot I do not remember, but took comfort knowing you were close by.
Then when Dr. N came in it seemed to be sort of a ballet where there was no wasted movements and everything was choreographed with you being the main character. How does a poor man on disability thank those such as you for saving their life? I am sure a new car or home would be in line if I was a rich man. But since I am not, will you please accept my heart filled thanks for helping me and my family. We are lucky to have you in our lives.
