Morgan was able to reassure me that everything would be okay and that I could do it.
I met Morgan when I gave birth to my son. She talked me through my labor up until my emergency c-section. Now, a little less than two years later, I was preparing to give birth to my daughter. I did not want a c-section and I did everything I could to try to bring on natural labor, but failed. My OB decided that we needed to schedule a c-section to get baby girl out. I was drained both physically and emotionally at this point and agreed since we were nearing the 41-week mark. I was terrified and my anxiety was at an all time high.
When Morgan found out I was having a c-section at her hospital, she took it upon herself to get her shift changed just so that she could be there for my family yet again. As if this wasn’t enough, upon our arrival at the hospital, she had a gift for our daughter waiting for us in the huge delivery room that she put us in. On the operating table, Morgan sat in front of me with words of affirmation and support throughout the prep process until my husband could take over.
At one point, I remember my entire body shaking with tears in my eyes, looking up at her, and saying, “I’m scared”. Morgan was able to reassure me that everything would be okay and that I could do it. She was right, but only because she was there to talk me through it. Morgan, words can never express to you how grateful I am for all that you did for us. Nothing you did went unnoticed and we will forever remember your part in both of our children’s birth stories.
