According to my mother, who was extremely sick at the time, Morgan came into the room with a smile on her face. That simple gesture meant so much to Mom, as she was in a lot of pain. Morgan went above and beyond her standard job requirements to ensure the comfort and happiness of Mom, by allowing us to ask questions regarding what Mom was experiencing. Morgan answered each question politely and professionally. What Morgan did not know, she did not pretend to know. She stated she did not know and explained that the doctor would be able to better answer certain questions. After Mom explained to Morgan how she felt about her previous care, Morgan immediately apologized and asked what, if anything she could do to assist Mom during her stay at Cone. Morgan demonstrated compassion by allowing Mom to say what was on her mind without interruption and brought Mom a warm blanket after observing how cold she appeared to be. Morgan made a positive impact and established a connection with Mom while discussing several topics in a positive and upbeat manner while still managing to give Mom her medication and tenderly treat her wounds. Morgan helped to manage an extremely stressful situation for Mom, without being rude or overbearing. Morgan should be identified as an extraordinary caregiver because of her exceptional bedside manners, her pleasant voice-tone, and her ability to connect with her patients and their families. It was also clearly evident how others seemed to gleam from Morgan's knowledge and professionalism. Morgan Dishmon truly provided outstanding care for Mom during the time she spent in ICU!
