A patient presented to the OBED who did not have any prenatal care. The patient admitted to using drugs to me and said she wanted help. I mentioned this to Morgan Fischer who immediately started finding resources to help the patient. When Morgan went back to talk to the patient, the patient admitted to being involved in sex work, but she wanted to stop. Morgan immediately went to work calling Rescue America so the patient could immediately have a place to go directly from the hospital.
I do not believe that we would have been able to reach this patient if any other nurse had been working triage that day. Morgan's kind heart appeals to patients time and time again and our patients frequently confide in her. She is an exceptional nurse and a wonderful teammate. Morgan is an irreplaceable asset!
