Morgan Johnson 2025, LPN

I had come into the ER on Wednesday, and found out I was being rushed to emergency surgery early the next morning after being in the ER doing tests all Wednesday night. I had to have my stomach flipped and placed back in the correct place, my intestines untwisted, my appendix removed, and a hernia repaired. This was even scarier because I am 15 weeks pregnant. After surgery, I was moved to the second floor to OB/PEDS for recovery. One night, I met Morgan as my nurse, and she went above and beyond to help me as much as possible. She always made sure to help me get in and out of bed, as well as going to the restroom. She made heating pads to help with my pain and made me broths when I was on a liquid diet. When I couldn’t go to the restroom, she made sure to help me find a solution and feel comfortable and not embarrassed about needing help. Morgan also helped calm my one-year-old daughter when she got upset seeing me cry and yell out in pain when getting up/down. I truly think we need more nurses like Morgan who are actually compassionate and love their job. With me having such a serious and major surgery with a very large incision, the pain was unbearable to get into bed, and Morgan would help me into bed so I would not pull my incision as badly. Morgan was very attentive to pain control as well as my dietary needs and offered to get me food if I thought I could stomach it and not be sick. She truly is the definition of a good nurse and deserves to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to providing such good care to patients in need.
