Morgan was my nurse during my labor at Mary Immaculate. She was so supportive and encouraging to me, my husband, and my mom while we were there.

After the birth of my previous child, I had been told that I couldn't have an epidural again. When Morgan saw that I was suffering and in pain, stuck at 5 cm for several hours and not progressing, she spoke with my husband and got permission to review my chart. She then went through all of the events of my previous birth with us.

Once she realized that I was an advocate for an epidural, she called together the midwife, charge nurse, and anesthesiologist for a consult. Within half an hour, they were all in my room, and it was determined that I could have an epidural. She then stayed after her shift had ended to make sure that the epidural was administered in a timely manner, that I didn't have an adverse reaction, that the nurse taking over my care had a good understanding of the entire situation, and that I was comfortable and confident with the plan moving forward.

I delivered my son in the early morning hours of 4/12, and because of Morgan's advocacy, was able to rest after laboring for 24 hours and before entering the transition and pushing of labor.

Morgan's courage and advocacy made a huge impact on my son's birth, and I am very thankful for her.

Thank you, Morgan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
