Morgan Mitchell has been my daughter’s nurse multiple times here in the ICU while we wait for her heart transplant. My daughter has an LVAD pump that has to be checked regularly for clots. On a Sunday, Morgan found a clot & was extra vigilant at checking the pump every half hour, going above the recommended 1-hour checking. She noticed the clot growing & continued to notify the doctors & team persistently. The plan was to change the pump out Monday morning but thanks to her persistence & monitoring (closely) they changed it out Sunday night. I truly feel she saved my daughter from a possible stroke.

On top of this she is so kind & interactive with my daughter who just adores her. She made my daughter’s birthday here so special with Mickey & Minnie toys, busy books/games, & had the staff sign the Dr Seuss Birthday Book for my daughter. Morgan is so deserving of recognition!
