When our sweet baby was transported to Le Bonheur’s NICU, Morgan was one of the first nurses we encountered. She not only gave great care to our new baby, but also big sister and us as parents. My toddler is still asking about Nurse Morgan and has been pretending to be a NICU doctor/nurse at home. Morgan immediately reached out to our toddler with crayons and a coloring book with a job for Big Sister to color some pictures for Baby Sister when we arrived. We feel that she went above and beyond in checking on us as she was our night nurse for several of our first days on NICU. She was then off for a couple of days, and at just 10 days old our sweet baby passed away a few hours before Morgan came in to work a shift. Morgan wasn’t assigned to us for that night but had planned to come check on our sweet girl when she arrived. She gave us space and didn’t want to intrude, but we welcomed her into our room to see our sweet baby one more time and she helped us as we had to leave her with the NICU nurses. We are grateful to have met Morgan and many of the other nurses too along this journey. We have a new appreciation for the tough job that they do day in and day out.
