Last April, I had my little girl, A, Morgan was one of my nurses the first night we got there. We could tell right away we were in good hands with her. My scheduled induction lasted a lot longer than we were anticipating, but Morgan was right there reassuring us of everything. I happened to progress quickly one of the nights after her shift started, and was in active labor come Friday morning. I couldn't have done the contractions, epidural, and everything without her reassurance. Morgan's shift ended before I could have my little girl, but she was still around once she was born.

Shortly after delivering my girl, we found out I had a retained placenta and had rapidly lost blood. It became an emergency situation, and I was rushed off to the OR. Morgan saw me to the OR and was going to leave (as she should have since her shift had ended hours before!) I had asked her to stay with me and I was terrified of what was to come, and she never batted an eye at it. She stuck with me and helped get my mind off everything going on by keeping casual conversation with me. She didn't even mind my conversation about tax season that I was missing at work :) Not even hesitating as I started to throw up. I don't think she realized how much that meant to not only me, but my husband, who saw me wheeled away with no idea what was going on. He knew I was in good hands with her. And she made sure to visit him before leaving for the day as well.

The issue was resolved, and after a night in the NICU, I was able to return to my husband and little girl the following day. Monday, as we were scheduled to be released, my hemoglobin was far too low, and I needed another blood transfusion before we could leave. Morgan happened to be on shift again and helped us through that process with ease. I was scared about the transfusion, but she reassured me at every step of the process. She was the one who got to walk me and my little girl out of the hospital, and I'm forever thankful for all she did for me and my family throughout our whole stay there. I will never forget the extra miles she went for us throughout our stay there, and in some of the scariest times of our birth story, she was the ray of sunshine that kept us calm and collected.
