During the conversation, he provided courage, reassurance, and confidence.
My father experienced Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML); after completing the chemotherapy treatment, he had a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at the King Hussein Cancer Center. I firmly believe that this Center has many caring and exceptional nurses filled with compassion, especially nurses in the adult BMT unit and outpatient clinics. The clinical nurse coordinator (Motasem) is one of them. Motasem has a remarkable personality and a keen sense of humanity. He dealt with my father as one in his family, as a father would. After the Bone Marrow Transplant procedure, my father frequently visited the hospital; Motasem took the time and sat down with my father for a while to discuss all the concerns and answer all the questions. During the conversation, he provided courage, reassurance, and confidence. He explained to my father what types of eating are appropriate for his condition and its details, especially since my father had lost a lot of his weight. He provided my father with extraordinary care that reflected accountability, respect, and excellence. Motasem reassured my father that he would recover, and my father's doing better now, and he passed all the challenging moments. Motasem's compassionate care cannot be described in words because he gave my father great psychological and emotional support to get through all difficult situations. He performs all the requests and needs of my father, which helps overcome anxiety and creates a pleasant atmosphere for the patient and me as a family member that accompanies the patient. The best nurse I had was Motasem. I want to thank Motasem for what he did for us, his support, compassionate care, and his positive attitude. His communication skills, interdisciplinary approach, and exceptional care positively impacted my father's recovery. As a hospital, you can make a difference in the patient's life through such great nurses, and for that, I felt grateful. Motasem deserves recognition for his compassion. Thank you, Motasem.
