When I arrived in the unit barely coherent, tethered to the IV and monitors, and on numerous medications, Mukta was there.
Two months ago, I fell off my bicycle while riding in the park. I'm 44 and in good shape but the injuries almost killed me. The broken ribs (at least seven of them) the snapped clavicle, and the fractured scapula were all easy compared to the collapsed lung that landed me in surgery, and thankfully into the care of Mukta Mukta. When I emerged, I was in severe pain, disoriented, and depressed. Mukta epitomizes the very best in nursing in restoring my health in all its vicissitudes. She was perpetually patient in explaining the processes including what medicines did what why healing takes time what I could expect, and what is unpredictable.

Moreover, she communicated with my wife in a kind, considerate, and again patient manner. When I think of my time in the hospital it is her warmth and concern that appears, not the pain. When I arrived in the unit barely coherent, tethered to the IV and monitors, and on numerous medications, Mukta was there. When I called, she was there. When I was discharged ten days after my accident, she was there. She said with a smile that she hoped she wouldn't see me again as that would mean I was again unwell. I do hope that this recognition lets her know that while we may not meet again at least under those circumstances she is forever part of my life to my eternal gratitude.
