Mumba is a great nurse and does a wonderful job. I appreciate her care.
Mumba was my night nurse on Thursday. She made a good impression on me and my family members. She made us all feel welcomed and cared for. She answered all of our questions with a smile and a great sense of humor. Later, she told me when she would be coming to check on me and how to use the call button. I had to use the call button once or twice because of the noise from the machine attached to my right arm, which she told me had to be kept straight. She was kind and gentle with me; we got along great.
On one of her check-ins, I asked her about her native country, how she ended up in Front Royal, and how to say two important words in her native language, "thank you". Her answers were: Zambia, an agency that had assisted with her placement. The night went well with visits from different people, doing their jobs well. Mumba, who always asked how I was doing, reminded me once again to keep my arm straight so the machine wouldn't beep. At 7:30 AM, at the end of her shift, she met the day nurse in my room to go over her shift. When they finished, I was ready to pop my new words on my "night angel", Mumba. I had been practicing and said my translation of the Zambian words for "thank you", but Mumba laughed when I explained what I had tried to say. Then she said it properly and with great expression. We all laughed as she explained the meaning of what I tried to say. Mumba is a great nurse and does a wonderful job. I appreciate her care. With gratitude.
