Mushira Abdulaziz’s clinical skill and especially her organizational and compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model as per criteria. As a Day Surgery Nurse, she floated to the Respiratory Zone Area without hesitation at the start of the pandemic. Even though outside the comfort zone of her scope of practice, she adapted rapidly to the workflow in the unit, and rendered exceptional care to the patients presenting with suspected Covid-19. With her exemplary skills as a nurse, she was the first Day Surgery nurse floated to the area that stepped up as a front-liner in all the areas of the Respiratory Zone Area. She pioneered a systematic approach to the swabbing process in the area, that lead to better patient flow in the unit. She is flexible and assists even in the Isolation Areas of the main ER.
