Mutiat demonstrates exceptional leadership in supporting and demonstrating how we live our nursing values in our daily professional practice. She uses her clinical leadership and skills and contributes to the broader community in an outstanding manner through the various works she has done by volunteering her time.

Mutiat is an example of what a nurse should be. It is evident that this is her calling and Mutiat doesn't just do a good job; you can sense that she loves the work and it is evident that she cares. She actually lifted everyone who stood in my room, family and the entire team, up to the Lord in prayer. That kind of thing just doesn't happen everywhere. Mutiat has a special heart and I am thankful for it.

Mutiat is a staff nurse who takes charge, precepts and leads by example. She is a peer interviewer and is a co-chair for the unit's practice council. Her patients always have wonderful things to say about her, specially her "loud and bubbly" personality that encourages them to get better. When she walks into a room she is always smiling! She is also a leader in safety, often being the first one to sprint into a room when an alarm goes off. She is always willing to cover a shift or come in on her day off to ensure adequate nursing staff for patient's safety.
As I have had the opportunity to continue to interact with her as part of the team, she not only treats patients well, but is fair and understanding with co-workers. She consistently demonstrates what it means to truly care about people. She is an advocate, a teacher, a partner, and a knowledge resource for patients and staff.
Mutiat continues to demonstrate methods of interaction to minimize tension and bring out goals for our patients using motivational and interpersonal skills that are genuine and compassionate. The patients trust her and she respects their time and needs without judgment
Not only is Mutiat amazing with her patients, she is also a wonderful co-worker. She always goes above and beyond to make sure that the other people working with her are okay. Everyone looks forward to days when she is working, because we know that she will always help in whatever way she can. She is kind to all of her co-workers and has a laugh that makes your day a lot better.
