I was at Mount Auburn for five days. Over the course of my stay, I was paired with Myana Civil a few times, and she left a lasting impression on my entire family and me. I have a big (and loud) family who were constantly in the room, which can be super overwhelming, getting questions from seven concerned and nervous people at once. Myana put everyone at ease, continuously checking on me and my whole family to see if we needed anything and answering any questions we had swiftly and professionally. We were surprised to hear she was new to this hospital because the expertise and service we received was that of someone who had been there for years. I was relieved when she was on shift for my discharge because I felt confident that I was truly ready and at a safe point to leave with her checking on me and providing me with detailed information about what I would need to do once at home to continue to recover. My family felt the same way. My mom even gave her a hug on the way out, thanking her for everything. I am thankful that she kept us calm throughout an extremely stressful few days. Thank you, Myana, for treating me not just as a patient but also as a friend.
