Recently, my partner was admitted to MAH for five nights while being treated for acute diverticulitis. Though not life-threatening or anything, it was a scary time for our crew and unfamiliar/uncomfortable to be stuck in the hospital waiting and hoping. We are happy with his care throughout the stay, but there was one standout staff member who deserves extra praise- nurse Myana Civil. Myana was a perfect balance of positive and friendly while still taking care of business with attention and care. Of all the many care providers we interacted with, we felt that Myana was the most helpful in her communication. She was clear, informative, set expectations, and followed through with the plans she laid out. It seems so simple, but clear communication is important to feel comfortable and cared for when your care is vague/unknown. Myana made us feel at ease whenever she was on shift, and we are so grateful for that. Hoping this feedback ensures that MAH knows what a great employee they have in Myana!
